Champaign-Parkland College’s trustees approved layoffs of 8 faculty members. It’s the first faculty cut the community college has had to make because of the State budget impasse. The cuts are in an effort to save money as state money for the school has disappeared.
The faculty members will be let go in May and all are non-tenured employees. At one time Parkland Community College received $8 Million dollars a year in state aid.
