NIU President Doug Baker testified in Springfield Tuesday on how the school is responding to the lack of a state budget. According to a new release from State Senator Pat McGuire, chairman of the Senate Higher Education Committee, Baker called the Illinois House’s recently-passed stopgap measure “unsustainable.” Baker said universities need stability and predictability from state government.
