MAP Grant Payments To Start Up Again
Students who have been waiting for months for tuition help from the state will soon see the money at long last.
Comptroller Susana Mendoza is releasing more than a half-billion dollars in overdue payments for colleges and universities… including more than $300 million in MAP grants for the school year that just ended.
That money has been on hold since a stopgap budget expired in January.
Mendoza says the money will stabilize the finances of troubled colleges and ensure they can open on time this fall.
