NORMAL — The Illinois State University Board of Trustees will have a special meeting Saturday to approve a three-year contract with President Larry Dietz that includes performance incentives.
The new contract includes a salary of $375,000, retroactive to July 1. When he was originally named president in March 2014, his salary was $350,000. It is currently $357,012.
Saturday’s meeting will begin at 11 a.m. in the Founder’s Suite in ISU’s Bone Student Center. The Dietz contract is the only item on the agenda.
Board chairman Rocky Donahue said Thursday, “The contract language is based on a pay-for-performance model.”
Dietz will be eligible for a performance bonus of up to $50,000 each year. However, it will be based on specific goals and measurements, such as retention and graduation rates, enrollment, fundraising and institution reputation, Donahue explained.
