Illinois’ drain on higher education funding is having a nearly irreversible effect on the state’s public universities and economy, speakers at a panel said Friday.

The panel was hosted by the Center for Tax and Budget Accountability and held at Loyola University’s Water Tower Campus in Chicago. The CTBA took the opportunity to release the results of a report on how the state’s 18-month budget impasse is affecting higher education institutions, businesses, and communities.
